- SAFETY FIRST
- Each team shall abide by the applicable state laws where hunting is conducted. If determined that a member or team has failed to abide by any law(s) in any aspect, it shall be at the Committee’s discretion on whether to disqualify any member or team.
- No team shall be allowed to participate in the Tournament if fail to properly register. Failure to properly register will result in automatic disqualification.
- Each team can hunt on any property (any state) as privileged to do so but may only enter Eastern birds.
- Weigh-in is from 10am-12pm and 4-6 p.m. sharp on Friday and Saturday 10am-12pm, April 8-9th, 2022. NO EXCUSES FOR LATE ENTRY!
- Only turkeys harvested on Friday and Saturday, April 8-9, 2022, can be entered for the Tournament. Failure to abide by this rule will result in automatic disqualification. The committee holds the right to disqualify any turkey that they have reason to suspect it has been killed previously.
- A card will be provided at the Check-in Dinner that must be used after killing your bird on hunt days. You must take a short continuous video of you in place, walking up to your bird on the ground, putting the card next to the bird with your face in the video. Video footage must also include the beard and spurs. This video must be shown at weigh in to enter your bird. If you cannot provide a video, then the bird doesn’t count. (Video does not have to include the kill shot).
- Each member is allowed to enter one (1) turkey per day. Turkey must be weighed-in on day of harvest.
- The Tournament will consist of a 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place winner depending on the official NWTF scoring system. We will only score the longest strand of the longest beard. Multiple beards will not be scored and multiple spurs on the same leg will not be scored for regular competition places (excludes longest beard, spur categories). This will help ensure an old mature bird scores higher than a non-typical 2-year-old. Turkeys will be scored as presented. Any feature of a bird harvested not attached cannot be scored. There will be no ties in tournament. Tie breaker will be largest spur. An official NWTF representative will score the birds and determine the winners at weigh-in. All scores are FINAL.
- Calcutta will be conducted at check-in located on the Square in Downtown Headland on Thursday, April 7th. Money must be collected on-site (*CASH ONLY*). Failure to pay money on-site will disqualify any person from participating in the Calcutta. Any person not registered in the Tournament may participate in the Calcutta. At registration, each team will have the buy now option to buy their team for $150 before the Calcutta begins. If a team isn’t bought and they win the tournament, then the winnings will go towards preparation for the next year’s tournament. Further details will be announced on site.
- In the event of a tie in the Calcutta, the prize shall be evenly distributed between the winning teams.
- All money for Calcutta must be collected immediately after its conclusion.
- The tournament committee reserves the right to refuse the right to participate in future events if any team or member violates any of these rules, meaning then that team or member may not be allowed back for next year’s tournament, at the discretion of the Committee. In addition, if determined that a member or team has failed to abide by any rules in any aspect, it shall be at the Committee’s discretion on whether to disqualify any member or team at any time.
- The Committee reserves the right and discretion to apply, amend, or execute any of these rules as it deems reasonable and in the best interest of the Tournament.
- All registration and Calcutta fees are non-refundable.

- HAVE FUN!
